Walter Elias Disney was born on December 5th, 1901 in Chicago Illinois, to his father Elias Disney and his mother Flora Call Disney. The Disney’s remained in Marceline for four years before moving to Kansas City in 1910. There, Walt and his sister Ruth attended the Benton Grammar School where he met Walter Pfeiffer. During the fall of 1918 Disney attempted to get into the military service but due to being under age as he was only 16, he was rejected from the army and then Walt and one of his friends decided to join the Red Cross. Following his joining the Red Cross, he was sent to France for a year, where he drove an ambulance and chauffeuring Red Cross Officials. Walt Disney married one of his first employees Lillian Bounds and within two years had two daughters named Diane and Sharon.&lt;/p&gt;

As the co-founder (with his brother Roy O. Disney) of Walt Disney Productions, Walt became one of the best-known motion picture producers in the world. The corporation he co-founded, now known as The Walt Disney Company, today has annual revenues of approximately U.S. $30 billion dollars.&lt;br&gt;

Walt Disney was an American film producer, director, screenwriter, voice actor, animator, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. He created characters such as Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Pluto etc. He received twenty-two Academy Awards and forty-eight nominations throughout his lifetime, holding the record for the individual with the most awards and the most nominations. Disney has also won seven Emmy Awards. Disney and his staff created a number of the world's most famous fictional characters, including the one many consider Disney's alter ego. On December 21st 1937, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was the full length animated musical feature premiered at the Carthay Theater in Los Angeles and produced the cost of $1,499,000.&lt;br&gt;
In the next five years he completed other full length animated classics such as Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo and Bambi.&lt;/p&gt;

Walt Disney was a hard working Visual man who thought of many great famous fictional characters such as Mickey Mouse, Oswald the lucky rabbit and other stars like Pluto. He was a hard worked which took him to high levels and got him Oscars and nominations and this made him and his company famous and worth lots of money.&lt;/p&gt;

Walt Disney died of lung cancer on December 15, 1966 at 9:30am, ten days after his 65th birthday. He was cremated December 17, 1966 and his ashes reside at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California. Roy O. Disney continued to carry out the Florida project, insisting that the name be changed to Walt Disney World in honour of his brother and released an amusement park which Disney wished for which was opened in 1955.&lt;br&gt;
